JAKARTA – Bagi masyarakat yang sering menggunakan kereta api, banyak dari mereka akan menggunakan fasilitas toilet karena perjalanan yang jauh dapat memakan waktu berjam-jam bahkan seharian.

Apalagi di musim angkutan Lebaran ini, banyak pelanggan yang mengajak serta anak-anak mereka untuk mudik.

Orangtua yang bepergian dengan anak-anak biasanya tidak bisa jauh-jauh dari toilet dan akses ke air bersih.

Itulah salah satu alasan mengapa para orangtua banyak yang memilih untuk mengajak anak-anaknya bepergian dengan moda kereta api.

Namun, tahukah kamu, dari mana asalnya air di toilet kereta?

Proses pengisian tangki air toilet kereta api adalah salah satu aspek penting dalam memastikan kenyamanan selama perjalanan.

Tahapan-tahapan ini merupakan bagian vital dalam operasi kereta api yang seringkali tidak disadari oleh banyak orang.

Proses Pengisian Tangki

Pertama-tama, pengisian tangki air toilet kereta dilakukan di stasiun awal sebelum kereta berangkat, serta di stasiun antara yang telah ditentukan sebagai stasiun pengisian tangki air.

Di stasiun awal, pengisian dilakukan oleh petugas cuci kereta, sementara di stasiun antara, tugas ini diemban oleh petugas khusus pengisian tangki air toilet.

Proses pengisian tangki air toilet dilakukan baik di bagian atas maupun bawah tergantung pada jenis kereta.

Dalam melakukan aktivitas ini, petugas wajib memakai perlengkapan keselamatan seperti helm, rompi pelindung, sepatu keselamatan, dan pengaman tubuh lengkap yang dihubungkan ke sistem pelindung jatuh atau lifeline untuk memastikan keselamatan mereka saat bekerja di ketinggian.

Waktu pengisian tangki air toilet kereta di stasiun awal disesuaikan dengan waktu kereta api berhenti.

Sementara di stasiun antara, waktu pengisian air disesuaikan dengan jadwal kedatangan dan keberangkatan kereta api sesuai dengan grafik perjalanan yang telah ditetapkan.

Kapasitas tangki air toilet kereta juga bervariasi tergantung jenisnya, namun rata-rata berkisar antara 400 hingga 1400 liter per kereta.

Frekuensi pengisian air juga berbeda untuk setiap perjalanan, tergantung pada jaraknya.

Untuk kereta api dengan jarak tempuh jauh, biasanya pengisian air dilakukan sebanyak tiga sampai empat kali selama satu perjalanan, sementara untuk kereta api dengan jarak menengah, biasanya pengisian air dilakukan sebanyak dua sampai tiga kali selama satu perjalanan.

Selanjutnya, proses pengisian air dilakukan setelah kereta berhenti dengan sempurna.

Petugas menggunakan peralatan khusus dan mengikuti protokol keselamatan yang ketat, terutama jika proses pengisian dilakukan saat malam atau dini hari.

Alat Pengisi Tangki

Peralatan yang harus dibawa oleh petugas pengisi tangki air toilet meliputi selang air, tangga berpelindung karet, alat penerangan, kunci (tang, obeng, dsb), alat bantu, dan perlengkapan keselamatan.

Mereka juga harus memiliki sertifikasi basic cleaning serta keahlian bekerja di ketinggian.

Air yang digunakan untuk pengisian tangki air toilet berasal dari sumur bor di sekitar stasiun dan telah melalui proses penyaringan untuk memastikan kebersihannya sesuai dengan standar kesehatan yang berlaku.
