Seorang Kakek di Jember Tewas Saat Berusaha Padamkan Rumahnya yang Terbakar

JEMBER – Suryaman (75) harus tewas meregang nyawa saat berusaha memadamkan rumahnya yang terbakar di Jalan Sumatera, Kelurahan Tegal Boto, Kecamatan Sumbersari, Jember pada Senin (22/04/2024) sekitar pukul 02.00 WIB dini hari tadi.

Kebakaran tersebut menghanguskan rumah milik Suryaman yang berukuran 5×12 meter. Diketahui, api pertama kali muncul dari lantai 2 rumah tersebut dan menjalar ke ruangan lain hingga menghanguskan seisi rumah.

Danru Pemadam Kebakaran Mako B Pemkab Jember, Dwi Atmoko membenarkan bahwa peristiwa kebakaran itu telah menewaskan Suryaman selaku pemilik rumah yang saat itu tengah berusaha memadamkan api.

“Jadi korban ini kemungkinan sedang berusaha memadamkan api dengan peralatan seadanya, sampai akhirnya terkena serangan jantung. Kami baru menerima laporan sekitar pukul 03.28 WIB, armada truk damkar saat itu meluncur bersama 9 personel,” serunya pada wartawan, Senin (22/04/2024) sore.

“Saat berusaha memadamkan api, korban diduga kelelahan dan sesak napas, sampai akhirnya pingsan, kemudian dievakuasi ke Puskesmas Sumbersari untuk mendapat perawatan. Akan tetapi, korban meninggal saat sedang menjalani perawatan di puskesmas,” imbuhnya,” sambungnya.

Sementara untuk proses pemadaman api, kata Dwi, berlangsung selama kurang lebih 1 jam, dan untuk pendinginan berlangsung selama kurang lebih 2 jam.

“Lokasi rumah ini berada di pemukiman padat, ditambah lagi sumber api berada di lantai 2. Sehingga kami cukup kesulitan saat berusaha memadamkan api. Api baru bisa padam sepenuhnya pada pukul 5 pagi tadi,” ujarnya.

“Beruntungnya, kebakaran tidak meluas ke bangunan lain. Untuk kerugian sendiri, ditaksir mencapai ratusan juta rupiah,” tutup Dwi.
